How does the interview process work?
We begin with a free discovery call to understand your loved one’s story and what you’d like to capture. From there, we schedule one or more gentle interview sessions — conducted remotely via video call — at a pace that suits them. There’s no script, no pressure, just a warm conversation guided by our experienced interviewer.
Do you work with people who have memory difficulties?
Yes, absolutely. We have experience working sensitively with people experiencing mild cognitive decline. We adapt our approach to suit each individual — shorter sessions, more prompts, and a patient, unhurried pace. Please mention this when you get in touch so we can tailor our process accordingly.
How long does the process take?
It depends on the package and how much your loved one has to share. A multimedia interview typically involves 1–2 sessions of 60–90 minutes each, with editing and delivery taking 2–4 weeks. A written memoir may involve 3–5 sessions and takes 6–10 weeks to complete. We’ll give you a clear timeline at the start.
Can this be given as a gift?
It’s one of the most meaningful gifts you can give. Many families commission a legacy interview as a birthday, anniversary, or Christmas gift. We can provide a beautifully presented gift card to give to your loved one, with all the details of what’s in store for them.
What if my loved one is nervous or camera-shy?
This is very common, and we’re well-practised at putting people at ease. Our interviewers are warm, patient, and skilled at drawing out stories naturally. Most people find that once they start talking, they can’t stop — and many say it was one of the most enjoyable experiences they’ve had.
